How it Began
In April of 2020, my band STRUMBERRY PIE held a fundraiser to help local restaurant employees who had lost wages due to the pandemic closings. We created a candle named BETTER DAYS, adorning the label with words of encouragement suggested by the band's fans.
The fundraiser was a success and the candles were so well received that it motivated me to try my hand at becoming a chandler. My second release was a holiday candle scented with Cypress and Bayberry, named ABUNDANCE. Burning a Babyberry candle to the socket on New Year's Eve is said to bring good fortune in the New Year. The good forune was mine, as they quickly sold out!
After releasing my Positive Vibes Trio (HOPE PEACE JOY) I realized I had found a new path, and on October 1, 2021 I officially became Deedee's Lights LLC!
Candles with Intention
Over the centuries, candles have transitioned from a utilitarian object to a powerful symbol with deep cultural, spiritual, and emotional significance. They have held significant importance throughout history.
We light candles to celebrate, socialize, relax, remember, pray, meditate, mourn, and heal.
Every candle I pour will mean something to the person who lights it. So I carefully and lovingly blend and hand-pour each one with its ultimate purpose in mind.
Our Product
I've chosen to work with natural soy wax made from US grown soybeans. It is known to be a renewable resource, biodegradable, and clean-burning. I don't use texture additives, so the natural properties of the soy wax will give your candle it's unique personality! I scent the candles with pthalate-free candle fragrance oils that contribute to a cleaner burn, and use cotton wicks that add the natural and artisanal qualities of hand-poured candles.
I offer seasonal releases, celebration favours and gifts, wholesale, and private label. All my candles are lovingly hand poured in small batches.
